I am a Mental Health Therapist and have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Since earning my MFT license in 2018, I have worked in private practice, community mental health, and as a clinical director for a mental health nonprofit. Because of my relationship with my late sister, who suffered deeply from severe mental illness and substance abuse, this work has always been especially close to my heart. I work with adults and parents struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, self-esteem issues, high emotionality, and parenting challenges. I am a parent and know this journey is never about perfection – it is about the willingness to reflect, brainstorm, learn and adjust – while always maintaining a lens of self-compassion. I provide support and parenting strategies from William Glasser’s Nurtured Heart Approach and Collaborative Problem Solving, an evidence-based approach. Prior to becoming a therapist, I completed an MA in Education and worked in various educational settings, with students ranging in age from kindergarten to city college.

Throughout our work together, I will help you feel heard and understood through careful listening and expressing genuine empathy, validation, and warmth. I always work from a perspective of openness, thoughtfulness, and caring. I will listen with respect and adjust to your needs. Our work together would be guided by your individual therapy goals. I am experienced in working with individuals from a diverse background and am affirming, humble, and self-reflective around intersections of culture, ethnicity, race, religion, sexuality, gender, and language.

I always create a non-judgmental and supportive space to learn about your history, current situation, and needs. Depending on your goals, I may help you to explore and express your emotions, reframe unhelpful thoughts, and work to learn new behaviors, such as positive coping and interpersonal skills. Parenting support may include helping you set age-appropriate rules and consequences, energizing your response to your child’s positive behaviors, and expressing unconditional love to your child. Most clients I work with report increased feelings of hopefulness, confidence, positive mood, connectedness with others, and other positive changes.
