I’ve always been deeply curious about human behavior, emotional well-being, and the connection between mental and physical health. My own experiences navigating emotional challenges helped me recognize how powerful it can be to feel truly supported and understood. Becoming a therapist not only taught me how to support others, but also helped me better understand and embrace my authentic self. That journey continues to inspire me to provide compassionate, individualized care for each person I work with.
Building trust starts with creating a safe, warm, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. In our first sessions, I like to explain my therapeutic approach, discuss what the therapy process can look like, and collaborate on treatment goals and expectations together. I believe therapy works best as a collaborative relationship, so I regularly invite feedback and encourage open communication throughout our work together. My goal is for clients to feel empowered, respected, and supported every step of the way.
I approach therapy holistically and strive to understand clients beyond their symptoms or struggles. I want to learn about who they are as a whole person — their values, culture, interests, relationships, passions, humor, music tastes, goals, and life experiences. By taking time to genuinely understand each client’s unique identity and perspective, I can tailor support in a way that feels meaningful and authentic to them. I prioritize active listening, empathy, and validation so clients feel seen, heard, and understood throughout the therapeutic process.
One thing I enjoy sharing with clients is my love for music and exploring different playlists depending on my mood. I find that music can be a powerful form of self-expression and emotional connection, and it’s often a fun way to build rapport and learn more about what resonates with each person.
